University casuals win higher loading and conversion rights

Casual university employees have won a higher loading and - for general staff – the right to convert to permanent under an award variation agreement reached between the universities and the five unions that cover them.

Operators at two refineries to vote on deals

In two AWU deals still to be voted on, operators at BP's oil refinery at Bulwer Island in Brisbane stand to receive a 12% pay increase over two years, while their counterparts at Shell in Geelong will get an extra seven days off a year, but a lower wage rise.
