Buttrose says 40,000 extra child care places not enough

Former magazine and newspaper editor and publisher Ita Buttrose told the AHRI conference today in Melbourne that the 40,000 childcare places rumoured to be offered in tomorrow's Budget fell well short of what was needed and urged working mothers to forget packaging a car in their salary - push for a nanny or mothercraft nurse instead, she urged.
