High Court challenge to now start two days earlier

The States' challenge to the Federal Government's Work Choices legislation will now begin two days earlier than originally planned and will continue for a total of six days rather than five.

Iemma shields workers from Work Choices

The Iemma Government is expected this evening to introduce legislation to protect almost 200,000 public sector employees from falling under Canberra's Work Choices regime, and extend the State IRC's jurisdiction to cover disputes over common law agreements.
